JOSH ZILLMER
for Wellington Village Council, Seat 3
VOTE TUESDAY, MARCH 10
Focus Issues for Josh
Critical Decisions Ahead for Local Governments
Voters may soon consider a constitutional amendment that could reduce or even eliminate property taxes on owner-occupied homes. This would represent a significant change in how local governments across Florida fund essential services. For Wellington, it means we must be thoughtful, proactive, and prepared to ensure continued support for the education, public safety, parks, and recreation that make our community such a special place to live and raise a family.
As a financial advisor with 17 years of experience, I understand how major policy changes can shape long-term financial stability. My commitment is to help Wellington navigate any transition responsibly, protecting taxpayers while ensuring the Village remains fiscally strong, resilient, and well-positioned for the future.
If elected, my mission is simple: leave Wellington stronger than when I took office. I will work collaboratively with the Governor’s office, municipal consultants, actuaries, and, most importantly, our residents to make thoughtful, transparent decisions that preserve our quality of life and keep Wellington thriving for generations to come.
Along with protecting taxpayer dollars and our future, my priorities are:
Protect the Equestrian Lifestyle
Wellington’s equestrian preserve and world-class facilities are central to our identity and local economy. I will protect the equestrian way of life that keeps Wellington unique on the world stage. I will make sure that Wellington Lifestyle Partners (WLP) follows through on ALL of their commitments to keep Wellington the Equestrian Capital of the world.
Continued Investment in our Youth
I’ve seen firsthand how sports and recreation programs shape our children’s future. I will fight to expand opportunities for kids and families through safe parks, strong programs, and community investment.
I am also a strong supporter of the Keely Spinelli Grant which helps keep our local schools the best in the county.
Protect Our Seniors
Every day as a financial advisor, I serve as a firewall between seniors and financial fraud, my job is to protect them, their retirement, and their legacy wealth. On Council, I’ll ensure Wellington takes proactive steps to educate and protect seniors from scams, exploitation, and neglect—so they can enjoy retirement with dignity and peace of mind.
Support First Responders
Our safety depends on those who serve on the front lines. I will ensure Wellington’s first responders have the resources, training, and support they need to keep our families safe.
Invest in our Infrastructure
I will work to address traffic congestion, invest in safer roads, sidewalks, and flood control to protect our families and neighborhoods.
Enhance Neighborhood Security with Technology
I will work with PBSO to strengthen community safety by investing in innovative technology, expanding the use of license tag readers, continuing to enhance school zone safety cameras and supporting the tools that help law enforcement prevent crime and keep our neighborhoods secure. Also, we must be vigilant about enforcing the laws regulating golf carts and motorized bikes on our sidewalks/pathways.
Modernize Village Services
Push for more online services and mobile apps so residents can easily access permits and report issues—making local government more transparent, efficient, and accessible.
Support Local Small Businesses
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. I will work with the Chamber of Commerce and community partners to support entrepreneurs, cut red tape, and make Wellington a thriving place to do business.
